My artistic practice explores an empathic relationship between human beings and the living structures of nature.
I work primarily through painting, creating abstract, rhythmic compositions inspired by natural processes such as ocean currents, plant growth, cellular structures and fire. Organic forms and spontaneous gestures meet more fundamental patterns, creating visual scores that seem to remain in constant movement and transformation.
My paintings are created outdoors, on the shores of the Ligurian Sea in Italy. The physical environment is therefore not simply a subject of observation, but an active part of the painting process. I respond to the movement of the sea, light, wind and changing weather conditions, translating sensory and bodily experiences into colour, gesture and rhythm.
My background as a professional dancer, choreographer and clarinetist strongly influences this process. Painting becomes a physical act: movement, repetition, tension and release enter the canvas as much as they enter the body in dance.
I approach colour as an immediate force rather than merely a means of representation.
The resulting paintings exist between abstraction and the suggestion of natural forms. They are not intended as illustrations of landscapes, but as attempts to visualize relationships and energetic processes that are normally invisible.
The sea has been a central presence in my work since moving from Berlin to Genoa. Through painting, I explore questions of identity, boundaries and interconnectedness: where does the human body end and the surrounding environment begin?
